A cancer centre in Wirral has saved the sight of people from all over the world with a pioneering therapy which is the first of its kind in the UK.

Clatterbridge cancer centre has offered proton beam therapy since 1989. The treatment works by targeting cancer with pinpoint precision.

Even 30 years on the technology is still considered groundbreaking.
