St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Dublin has completely re-equipped its radiotherapy department with immobilisation solutions. The hospital, part of St Vincent's Health Care Group, has chosen to invest in patient positioning equipment from Oncology Systems Limited.

Stuart Baldwin, OSL sales director said: “The hospital decided it was time to completely refresh its patient positioning accessories, literally from head to toe! The number of departments we are supplying in Ireland continues to expand and we look forward to building on these relationships.”

Patricia Flanagan, St. Vincent’s radiotherapy services manager said: “We asked OSL to quote on the new equipment as we know it carries the products that meet our high quality specifications, and that the range of solutions it distributes meant they could meet all of our varied needs.”

Along with various positioning cushions, the Type-S head and neck baseplate and thermoplastics, the department is one of the first in the UK and Ireland to invest in the revolutionary C-Qual Breastboard, combining the latest in IGRT-enabling design with an enhanced emphasis on patient comfort. The Sure-Set angulation support provides quick, secure elevation, whilst the C-Qual's ergonomic design delivers a new level of patient comfort. The low-attenuating properties of the C-Qual provide a homogenous radiotherapy treatment zone - ideal for the imaging demands of IGRT.
