OSL distributes Dosimetry Check

Posted on Jul 01, 2011

Oncology Systems Limited (OSL) has signed a direct agreement with US company, Math Resolutions, to distribute its Dosimetry Check Software throughout the UK and Ireland.

Dosimetry Check has been in routine clinical use since 2003 for pre-treatment verification. The new Transit Module, released 12 months ago, is the first commercially available EPID based solution for IVD using the portal imager to acquire beam data that has exited the patient. This is then back-projected onto the patients CT data set giving absolute dose in 3D.

The software, which proved popular with visitors to ESTRO 2011 in London earlier this year, works with any modern EPID and any treatment technique including VMAT and RapidArc™ to provide a volumetric measurement for IMRT QA.

Stuart Baldwin, OSL’s sales director said: “Several OSL customers who visited our stand at ESTRO took a look at Dosimetry Check and they were very impressed with the functionality that the software offers. For some time now many departments have been looking to make in-vivo dosimetry routine, but traditional methods are far from ideal and even unsuitable for more sophisticated techniques like IMRT and VMAT/RapidArc™. Dosimetry Check with Transit Dosimetry fills this need with minimum impact on workflow and resources.”

Peter Myshrall, Math Resolutions’ VP Sales and COO said: “OSL has a great track record in the UK and Ireland in building the reputation of leading radiation therapy products, including its own and third party software. Dosimetry Check fits neatly alongside these leading brands. From the feedback we had at ESTRO from OSL’s customers, we’re looking forward to seeing more installations in the UK and Ireland over the coming months.”
