Training on mpMRI at Prostate Masterclass to be continued at BAUS, Liverpool

Posted on Apr 10, 2018

In April, a distinguished international faculty ran a successful Prostate Masterclass in London, to educate and train urologists and radiologists on how to best diagnose and treat prostate cancer with emphasis on mpMRI, targeted fusion biopsy and focal therapy.

Course Director Professor Hashim Ahmed stated,

“The Prostate Imaging & Focal Therapy Masterclass at Imperial College London provided training for 130 attendees over 6-7 April, 2018. Our attendees reported the hands-on clinical case study module was a welcome addition to enhanced knowledge sharing for dealing with MPMRI and prostate imaging. We will be looking to deliver this training again during the upcoming BAUS meeting in June in Liverpool.”

During the meeting’s practical sessions, urologists and radiologists were trained using Watson mpMRI analysis software when multiple cases were examined. BiopSee image guided fusion biopsy system was also featured at the meeting. This advanced fusion software has been selected by Imperial/Charing Cross, St George’s, London, and Epsom hospitals who are rolling out the Prostate Rapid Pathway programme to improve the speed and accuracy of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment for thousands of men in the south of England.
