OSL’s ImSimQA takes off down under

Posted on Jan 16, 2012

Oncology Systems Limited’s ImSimQA radiotherapy software has taken off down under with an order for two installations in Melbourne. The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) has purchased the ImSimQA software and all three additional ImSimQA modules, and the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) will be using the ImSimQA core software.

Dean Willems, OSL product specialist said: “ImSimQA is already in use in radiotherapy departments in the UK and USA and now we’re getting a lot of interest worldwide. In fact, we recently awarded a contract to an excellent distributor in the Netherlands, who has described the software as ‘closing the loop of testing’. Close on the heels of that news we secured these first two installations in Australia with our distributor, Nucletron Pty.”

RMIT will make full use of the core software and its three modules: ImSimQA4d, ImSimQAdform and ImSimQAcontour.

The latest version of ImSimQA was released at the end of 2011 and features the most advanced functionality to date. It incorporates more extensive QA tools for testing techniques such as deformable image registration and atlas-based auto contouring that are now essential for IMRT, ART, IGRT and SBRT.
