OSL secures top order with JCUH

Oncology Systems Limited (OSL) has supplied James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough with a significant order for five CIVCO Universal Couchtops. The new state of the art products will be used in the hospital’s purpose built £38 million cancer facility that ensures local patients have access to the latest cancer therapies, including Tomotherapy, Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiotherapy.

Stuart Baldwin, OSL’s sales director said: “The new couchtop is proving popular with many OSL customers due to its superior quality and unique design. There are no support beams, as is the case with other designs, so delivery is not compromised especially for IMRT and VMAT treatments with improved IGRT functionality due to the design.

“The couchtop’s superior level of indexing also enhances the ability to attach accessories for SBRT.”

The Universal Couchtop is available as a one piece or as a modular two piece solution. James Cook took advantage of the two piece solution and has included Posifix head and neck baseplates with its order, since these will seamlessly integrate into the couchtop.
