Helical Tomotherapy and the Hi-Art® System

Helical tomotherapy using a ring gantry as used in CT scanners, is tomotherapythe way in which all external beam radiotherapy will be delivered in the future. Why? More efficient delivery, more conformal plans plus adaptive treatment to treat what the oncologist prescribed.

From day one, TomoTherapy Hi-Art® from TomoTherapy Inc. Madison, WI.,was designed and built from the ground up, to deliver CT image-guided treatments, the most highly conformal, but most importantly, to deliver adaptive radiotherapy.

Hi-Art  = highly integrated adaptive radiotherapy.

Now consider that Hi-Art® is the first radiotherapy system to completely integrate treatment planning optimisation, with CT image guidance, treatment delivery and adaptive radiotherapy, plus fully onboard and integrated QA procedures, and it starts to make sense why this technology is setting the gold standard for the future.

Clinically, TomoTherapy Hi-Art® covers the widest range of clinical applications of any system. Imagine being able to use a single machine, to treat small stereotactic-type lesions, to simultaneously treating multiple target lesions, to Total Body Irradiation and very large targets up to 160cm long in a single delivery. TomoTherapy Hi-Art® is extremely flexible and in fact, the more complex the target volume the more the system excels in the level of conformality that can be achieved.  Exquisite, but rapidly planned and delivered palliative treatments are also a strength, as are very deep seated tumours and superficial lesions that would traditionally be treated with electrons.

In today's demanding clinical workplace being designed for its purpose, TomoTherapy Hi-Art® is the most efficient technology, from planning the treatment, to imaging and adapting treatment to ensure daily accuracy.
